Welcome to the Lifestyle! We at Kitesports are driven by a passion for the sport of kiteboarding. It is our goal to introduce as many people as possible to this thrilling sport and to teach them in a safe and responsible way. Our IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) qualified instructors have a combined 12 years teaching experience so we provide a high quality level of teaching, with standards that are recognised and applied worldwide.

You will be taught using all the latest Flexifoil gear and we have a fully stocked shop with experienced staff to ensure you have all the equipment and back-up support you need to continue your newfound passion!

Discovery Kiteboarder Program – Level  1

Lesson Plan:
It all starts here! Your instructor will respect your rhythm and take you through all the steps to reach your goals. Below are some of the steps we will be going through on land in order to get you ready to get into the water. Enjoy!

Safety theory
•    Kite set-up and kite maintenance
•    Know the use of safety systems
•    Understanding the wind window
•    Basic kite flying skills
•    Launch and land the kite

Duration: 2 hours
Cost: R450
Requirements:
No experience needed.
Must be able to swim.
Bring your sunscreen, hat and sunglasses.

Intermediate Kiteboarder Program – Level 2

Lesson Plan:
During this lesson you will learn to fly the kite with more power, fly one-handed and enter and exit the water independently and safely while controlling the kite. Once you complete this program, you will be ready to start riding on the board and closer to becoming an independent kiteboarder!

•    Advanced Kite flying skills
•    Water re-launch the kite
•    Basic downwind body dragging
•    Advanced upwind body dragging
•    Body dragging with a board

Duration: 2 hours
Cost: R450
Requirements:
Kiteboarder Level 1 or equivalent skill level
It is recommended that level 1 and 2 are combined into a half-day course as this will give you a good understanding of kiteboarding and you will be able to continue practising by yourself in a safe manner. "Most of our students are confident at this stage and purchase their own gear to continue practising and then making the board work lesson easy as 1-2-3".

Independent Kiteboarder Program - Level 3

Lesson Plan:
Time to ride! In this lesson you learn the power stroke to get you up onto the board, learn to water start and learn to control your riding speed and direction. Once you complete this program, you will be a truly independent kiteboarder! “NOW YOU ARE LIVING LIFE”

•    Board work theory
•    Starting on the board
•    First water start
•    Basic riding in both directions
•    Consistent riding in all directions including upwind
•    Theory and safety rules for jumping

Duration: 4 hours
Cost:  R800
Requirements:
Kiteboarder Level 2 or equivalent skill level
